The Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation
What is TLC?
Since the death of our happy wonderful little son Toby, aged one, we established the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation, or TLC. TLC’s aim is to support children with cancer and their families, and promote much-needed research into childhood cancers.

The money raised by TLC will be used to provide vital equipment and special requirements to ease pain and suffering. Currently we are carefully evaluating several options:

Play Area

With the opening of the new Children's Hospital, the oitside play are that was available to the children at Llandough was lost.  this much needed facility will enable the children to continue to develop through paly during the long months of treatment. It will also provide them with a 'haven' away from the ward where they can have fun and make friends with the other young patients. We need to raise £50,000 specifically for this project and it is anticipated the play area will be completed later this year.

Image Intensifier

It is important for the children to have a Hickman line inserted as early as possible to avoid the need for

painful injections. Whilst access to theatres is not a problem, the unavailability of an image intensifier can

cause unnecessary delays for these operations. The provision of this equipment, which will cost £100,000,

will ensure the children receive their chemotherapy and other medication painlessly. Other patients

throughout the hospital will also benefit from the intensifier.
